What a find at LAX, especially if you’re in the mood for some yummy casual fare and a congenial atmosphere to wait out your departure. Situated in the terminal 6 food court, Jody Maroni’s reigns. In fact, the sausage kingdom is a classic in the Southland with the original location serving Venice Beach bums for decades with all kinds of edible links. Try the Louisiana Boudin hot link, served with enough chilis to be called this handy outfit’s hottest dish, in more ways than one.

This tiny outlet of California’s best sweets–a Southland mainstay since 1921–is the best place at LAX to buy a host gift before you hit the road. Forgo the cheesy souvenir shops and purchase a half pound of Scotch kisses to gift and a half pound of dark chocolate maple walnut goodies to eat as you wait to be whisked away from the city.
