LONG BEACH (CBS) — A Long Beach man is recovering from a close encounter with a burglar who shot at him Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was in the shower when three intruders busted through the locked front door of his home on Santa Ana Avenue.
Mike, who only gave CBS2 his first name, says he heard a loud bang before his dogs started barking.
When he went into the hallway to investigate, he was startled by one of three burglars.
“When I got out of the shower, I just looked down the hallway and I saw a guy with a big hoodie,” he told CBS2. “And I told him, ‘Take your hood off, man, I can’t see you. I don’t know who you are. Take it off.’ And then a couple more guys came around the corner looking down and I’m trying to see what’s going on. I didn’t see a gun.”
One of the men fired at him, but missed. They then ran from the house without taking anything.
Police are still looking for them.
