WINNETKA (CBS) — Police need the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of fatally shooting a man outside a liquor store in Winnetka.

The shooting happened on Nov. 10, 2011 at about 5:40 p.m. when the suspect approached 43-year-old Deverrin Lloyd Jackson, of Canoga Park, a liquor store at the corner of Sherman Way and Corbin. After an apparent argument, the suspect produced an unknown type of handgun and fired at Jackson.

Jackson was struck several times and died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

The suspect fled on foot behind a strip mall and into the rear parking lot of a neighboring apartment complex.

He is described as being a white or Hispanic male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160-180 pounds, 20-30 years old.

Anyone with information about this suspect or case can call Detective Crowe at (818)374-7712.
