LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A group of talented actors Thursday took part in a huge audition — the seventh annual CBS Diversity Showcase in North Hollywood.
Five thousand people applied to take part, 2,500 auditioned and 22 were selected to perform.
Casting agents and other Hollywood leaders watched them perform sketches, which they had written themselves.
The event is part of the continued commitment of highlighting diversity at CBS.
“I think CBS is at the forefront of creating opportunity for getting artists, actors, comedians right there, up and front with casting directors, producers, directors, “ said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.
People who’ve taken part in the showcase in the past have appeared on TV shows on CBS and every other network.
