WHITTIER (CBS) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly molested an 11-year-old girl while standing in line at a Ross Dress For Less department store.

Officials say the suspect stood in line behind the victim on Dec. 8 as she waited to purchase items. The man reportedly grabbed the girls’ buttocks and rubbed them for several seconds.

Upon seeing the incident, the victim’s mother approached, yelling at the suspect, who then fled the location.

A short time later, the suspect was identified while exiting another store at the Puente Hills Mall. His image was captured by that store’s surveillance cameras.

Detectives have been unable to identify or locate the suspect.
