(CBS) – Derek Fisher’s 3-pointer with just over three seconds left lifted the Los Angeles Lakers to a 73-70 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night at the Staples Center.
It was Lamar Odom’s first game against the Lakers since an offseason trade that sent him to the defending NBA champions.
Odom got a lengthy standing ovation from the Staples Center crowd.
The Lakers honored him with a video tribute during a timeout, thanking him for the memories.
Odom, who spent seven seasons with the Lakers, scored 10 points.
Los Angeles managed to snap the Mavericks five-game winning streak, despite scoring seven points in the third quarter and a season-low 14 points by Kobe Bryant.
Andrew Bynum led the Lakers with 17 points.
