Suspect In Road Rage Murder Due In Court Monday
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A gang member suspected of killing a teenager who was delivering pizzas is expected to make a court appearance Monday.
Jose Beltran is accused in the shooting death of 20-year-old Juan David Vasquez.
Vasquez was shot in the head in what authorities are calling a road-rage incident while driving two co-workers home in the early morning hours of Aug. 7.
The youngest of four children, Vasquez worked two jobs to help support his family. He was a bus boy at one restaurant and delivered pizzas for another.
Beltran, who pleaded not guilty in Vasquez's death last year, was arrested 12 days later when a witness identified him.
If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
