Man Dies After Being Hit By Multiple Cars In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — A man was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by as many as three hit-and-run drivers in Garden Grove.

Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale says the man was run over at 1:21 a.m. in the 9700 block of Westminster Avenue between Kelly Street and Erin.

Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was not in the cross walk at the time of the accident, according to authorities.

While conducting their investigation, police say one of the alleged hit-and-run drivers returned to the scene and was released after giving police a statement.

Police say they are looking for a white, full-size van that witnesses reported seeing leaving the scene at some point after the accident.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Investigator Jason Perkins at (714) 741-5823.
