LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Sheriff’s deputies evacuated a neighborhood in the City Terrace area of East LA Wednesday night after receiving reports of an explosive device spotted in a vehicle.
The vehicle was located near the intersection of North Rowan Ave and Blanchard Street. The device inside was initially believed to be a grenade or pipe bomb.
The 900 block of Rowan was evacuated shortly before 10 p.m. so the bomb squad could investigate.
The Sheriff’s Department determined the object was not dangerous, and gave the all clear around 10:30 p.m.
