TEMECULA (CBS) — One person was killed and three others were injured in a two-car collision in Temecula.
The accident at Meadows Parkway and Rancho California Road occurred about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, said police Sgt. Mark Leggett.
“Officers determined a white Toyota Tacoma pickup with three male occupants was traveling east on Rancho California Road, failed to stop for the red light at Meadows Parkway and was struck broadside by a white Toyota Tundra pickup, containing a male driver,” Leggett explained.
“Alcohol and reckless driving on the part of the driver of the Toyota Tacoma pickup is suspected to have played a part in the collision,” the sergeant added.
The four men were taken to Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta where one of them was pronounced dead at 11:36 p.m., he said.
The three others suffered injuries that ranged from moderate to critical.
