LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A U.S. District Court judge in Delaware ruled that the Los Angeles Dodgers must temporarily stop the sale of the team’s television rights, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Dodgers owner Frank McCourt was trying to sell those rights along with the team.
But Fox Sports had asked the judge to stop that because its contract with the team prevents any new TV negotiations from taking place until November.
Judge Leonard Stark handed down the stay Friday, according to the newspaper.
Stark is expected to hear an appeal by Fox on the issue on Jan. 12.
It’s not immediately clear whether the Dodgers plan to appeal.
