It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Grinchmas

For a movie set experience during the holidays, Universal Studios sets the scene.

Beginning on December 10 and 11 and continuing daily from December 17 through January 1, 2012, a very, merry "Grinchmas"™ returns to Universal Studios Hollywood as the theme park rings in a jolly Who-liday season with the Grinch, his faithful dog Max, tons of fresh snow and nightly celebrity readings of the Dr. Seuss classic "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." A straight-from-the-movie, twisty Christmas tree will tower 60 feet above the center of a snow-covered winter wonderland. The tree will be lit in nightly ceremonies that will feature a colorfully costumed Who-ville choir caroling and spreading holiday cheer with The Grinch and Max as the stars of the show. The area around the Christmas tree is a snow play area where families can build snowmen and make snow angels in an "only in Hollywood" setting.

The Whos of Who-ville can be found roaming the park along with The Grinch giving guests the opportunity to snag the perfect photo op. "Grinchmas" will also provide fans of the blockbuster movie a close-up view of original Who-ville film sets featured in the live-action version "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" aboard the world-famous behind-the-scenes Studio Tour. As the tram rolls to a stop amid the fanciful Who-ville buildings, guests will experience a one-of-a-kind performance by a Who's Who of Who-ville re-enacting favorite scenes and songs from the film.

"Grinchmas" is included in the regular ticket admission price. How about starting a family tradition of "Grinchmas" and give your family the gift that gives all year long? Universal Studios Hollywood's popular "Buy A Day, Get 2012 Free" promotion is underway. Plus, guests who purchase the "Buy A Day, Get 2012 Free" will be able to use their annual pass to experience Universal Studios Hollywood's new cutting-edge thrill-ride, "Transformers TM: The Ride 3D," when it opens next Spring.

Tips for a great "Grinchmas" visit: Kids have a blast in the snow, but they can also get wet. Parents may want to have a change of clothes on hand. For the calendar of celebrities participating in the tree lighting, visit the website. After your visit, be sure to explore Universal Citywalk and its Holiday festivities including light shows and visits with Santa (see calendar of events). Consider splurging on "Front of the Line" passes that give your priority access to shows, attractions and events.
