LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles County Hall of Records downtown was evacuated Thursday morning after a suspicious package was found near building.

A briefcase was found in some bushes outside the building around 8:45 a.m., sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

The sheriff’s bomb squad was sent to the located at 320 W. Temple Street. Officials later determined that the briefcase was not explosive.

    The city should get rid of there records and go to cd’s.
