LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  Coldplay announced Thursday that the band’s first North American tour in nearly three years will include a two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in the spring.

The tour kicks off April 17 in Edmonton, Alberta, and the Hollywood Bowl concerts are scheduled for May 1-2. Tickets for the Los Angeles dates go on sale in early January.

The British band is touring in support of its recently released CD, “Mylo Xyloto,” which includes the Grammy-nominated singles “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” up for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, and “Paradise,” nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
