Residents With Severe Wind Damage Can Apply For Tax Breaks
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Residents who sustained at least $10,000 in damages to their properties during last week's wind storms could qualify for tax relief from the government.
Under California law, homeowners are entitled to a temporary reduction in the assessed value of their homes, which could reduce their tax bills until the damage is repaired.
Applications are available online or at the Los Angeles County Assessor's office in Norwalk.
The form must be submitted within one year to qualify.
