'Suspicious' Item Prompts Brief Evacuation Of LAPD Headquarters In Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles police briefly evacuated their downtown headquarters due to a "suspicious" item found in the main lobby.
Authorities cleared out just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Los Angeles Police Administration Building at 100 West 1st Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
The bomb squad investigated the small manila envelope and determined it was safe.
The evacuation order was canceled shortly before 11 a.m.
