Fresno State Fires Pat Hill After 15 Seasons

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Fresno State has let go coach Pat Hill after 15 seasons at the school.

Athletic Director Thomas Boeh made the decision Sunday, a day after the Bulldogs finished a 4-9 season with a 35-28 loss at San Diego State.

Hill built Fresno State into one of the top programs outside the major conferences early in his career with the mantra of playing anybody, anywhere, anytime. But he struggled to maintain that level of success in recent years. He had a 40-41 record over his last 81 games, beginning with a 50-42 loss to then-No. 1 Southern California in 2005.

Hill finished his tenure with a 112-80 record and went to 11 bowl games.

I am a Cornhusker fan but I liked what Pat Hill has done with Fresno State. It takes players to make the best teams. Pat Hill could be a number one coach in any big name school.

I agree with you Doug.I am a fressno state fan and Pat Hill fan. I do not believe fresno state gave him what he needed to perform at a level that we would like. i think pat Hill would be outstanding at any college that would be willing to put into the program what it needed (unlike Fresno State).
