(Brad Gold/CBS) – Andrew Bynum is suspended for the first five games of the regular season, a suspension that was announced very quickly after he violently crushed Dallas’ J.J. Barrea in the NBA playoffs last season.
I don’t disagree that the suspension is justified, in fact Barrea could have pressed criminal charges against Bynum, but the 5-game suspension is based on the usual 82-game season.
The Lakers and the rest of the NBA are only playing 66-games this year, giving Bynum a 61-game season.
Maybe he can get an extra game back. It’s worth a shot.
