Help Solve A 'Sesame Street' Mystery

NEW YORK (CBS) — How many is five? That isn't the most intriguing question concerning "Sesame Street" these days. Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Bob, Susan...are all at a loss to answer what should be a simple question. Who was the actor who played the first Gordon on "Sesame Street"?

In the summer of 1969, the Children's Television Workshop produced a pilot episode of "Sesame Street" that was only shown to a group of kids.

The episode sat in the vault for years. In 2009, to celebrate the show's 40th anniversary, the pilot turned up and producers have been trying to find the identity of pilot Gordon ever since.

Matt Robinson (Holly Robinson Peete's father, by the by) played the first Gordon to air on TV. He played the role for three years. Hal Miller played Gordon in years four and five. And Roscoe Orman took over in season six and has played the role ever since.

Several cast members who have been with the show since day one are also stumped.
