Firefighters Battle Blaze At Senior Center In Pacoima

PACOIMA (CBS) — A fire damaged the fourth floor of the Pledgerville Senior Center in Pacoima Tuesday, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters were sent to the 11000 block of Norris Avenue at 11:10 a.m. extinguished the flames in 17 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

Officials said 40 residents were evacuated and were being assessed for possible medical problems.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
