Detox From The Halloween Hangover!

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Too much candy over Halloween? Its time to detox!

Alyse Levine visited the KCAL 9 studios Thursday to give viewers tips on how to detox from the Halloween Hangover.

Healing from the Halloween Hangover is as easy as eating and drinking!

Water: Water is an essential aspect of any cleanse because it helps carry nutrients, minerals, vitamins, proteins, etc. through the body to each destination. It also helps maintain the body's equilibrium and helps the liver break down and release more fat. If plain water isn't satisfying enough, give HINT Water a try. HINT tastes great without tasting sweet and contains no calories, no sweeteners and no artificial flavors or preservatives.

Kale Chips: Know there were plenty of superman costumes at Halloween but if we're talking superfood, there's a good chance we're talking about Kale. This leafy planet may be one of the healthiest vegetables on Earth and offers a natural chlorophyll boost to any diet which is beneficial because chlorophyll helps to aid with any sort of detoxification. Kale chips are an excellent source of absorbing the benefits while still enjoying a snack!

Matcha Green Tea: While we're on the subject of healthy greens, a great source of antioxidants and a way to boost metabolism and burn calories is with Matcha Green Tea. I'm not sure if a lot of viewers know this but one glass of matcha green tea contains more than 100 times the antioxidants as regular green tea.

Pumpkin Seeds: Following Halloween, I know there are a ton of pumpkins around just waiting to become your next healthy snack! Recycle this favorite Halloween decorations by slightly salting the seeds and roasting them in your oven for as little as 10 minutes. They help to cleanse because they're chock-full of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and numerous health-promoting anti-oxidants.

Additional Tips:

Keep your meals small and simple but eat more frequently throughout the day. That will help stabilize your blood sugar and free up some of the massive amount of energy required for digestion

Lastly, don't forget to exercise! It's as easy as going for a brisk walk outside. Even the most minor exercise helps to improve circulation, which brings fresh, oxygenated blood to the body's organs and tissues, thereby revitalizing them and the whole body as a whole.
