SANTA ANA (CBS) — A family of five was injured when their car was hit by a driver who had been shot, authorities reported.

The driver was injured in a shooting and fled in an Astro van. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with the family’s VW Beetle at the intersection of Edinger and Grand avenues.

The driver and four passengers inside the vehicle were transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver in the van died from his injuries.
