Water Main Break Impacts Homes On LA's Westside
LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) — A water main break impacted homes on the city's Westside.
The rupture, which occurred Saturday morning at National Place and Malcolm Avenue, brought a steady flow of water.
KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reported that streets at the intersection near Westwood Boulevard looked newly paved but now bear the scars of crews digging to broken pipes.

The water flow was especially troublesome to one couple who just completed landscaping in their backyard. They watched as their investment worth tens of thousands of dollars got its first drainage test which came sooner and with more intensity than expected.
"We just finally got the landscape to take hold," the resident told Mertz. "It was starting to look good and now it's pretty soggy."
"You just kind of sit here helpless watching all the water come in," the resident added.
