Anaheim police Sergeant Rick Martinez says Robey's girlfriend set up a hidden camera and caught the alleged abuse on tape.

"We observed on tape the father of the child with a blanket around the child's neck. He picks up the baby by lifting the ends of the blanket like a noose and swinging the victim around for about a minute," the sergeant said.

Martinez says Robey can also be seen punching the baby in the chest with a closed fist.

The baby's mother discovered what happened the next morning when she watched the videotape, according to police.

Robey, who is being held on $1 million bail, is set to be arraigned on Nov. 9, according to the Associated Press. He faces 15 years to life in prison, if convicted.
