SAN FERNANDO (CBS) — A 25-year-old Saugus man is accused of committing a lewd act on an 11-year-old boy in a restroom at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Monday.

Casey Flynn Crockett allegedly committed the crime about 4 p.m. in a food court restroom in the 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

When Crockett and the boy left the restroom, the father confronted the suspect and a fight ensued. Crockett then ran toward the Transit Center across the street, according to sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker.

Crockett surrendered to authorities at the sheriff’s Santa Clarita station Tuesday.

Prosecutors will ask that Crockett’s bail be set at $1 million. If convicted as charged, he faces up to eight years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

If I was the boy’s father and actually confronted this piece trash, the police would have found him with strangulation marks around his neck. Parents: It’s just not safe for your children to go anywhere alone these days…not even to a bathroom which is probably one of the worst places a child can go alone.

We live in a strange society. Prosecutors ask for one million in bale for a molestation case. If he killed this kid, his bail wouldn’t be that high. We need to get our priorities straight.

I met Casey Crockett 7 years ago and I had to have him arrested before for basically entering my home and refusing to leave. He has been stalking my best friend for years and he has called me on the phone (before I ultimately had to change my number, both cell and home phone) saying if I hung up he was going to kill himself. I also believe he has warrants out in other states. When I was 17 he sexually assaulted me. He also stole medication from my grandmother years ago. This man is dangerous and is a con artist. He lied his way out of where he was taken when my mother and I had him arrested in 2008. He needs to be put away for good. I’ve known him long enough to know there is no hope for him to ever be a normal person. I wish he had been put away before this happened.
