Interstate 10 Reopens After 2 Freight Trains Derail In Colton
COLTON (CBS) — Interstate 10 was closed for several hours overnight after two trains derailed near the Valley Boulevard underpass.
The accident involving a Union Pacific freight train and a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train took place just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The westbound side of the freeway was closed at the 215 Freeway and the eastbound side was closed at Rancho Avenue for several hours.
The road was reopened just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, after officials confirmed that no toxic chemicals leaked during the collision.
No injuries were reported.
The crash was under investigation.
Officials were working to clear the wreckage.
