Missing Woman, 28, Found Safe At Costa Mesa Hotel

NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — A Newport Beach woman who was reported missing Oct. 2 has been found safe in a Costa Mesa hotel.

Morgan Arevalo, 28,  had checked herself in at the hotel voluntarily, Newport Beach police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe said.

Newport Beach police issued a public plea on Monday for help in finding Arevalo, who hadn't been seen since she hailed a cab near her home the night of Oct. 2 and was dropped off at Newport Boulevard and 17th Street in Costa Mesa,
Lowe said.

Arevalo appeared to be highly intoxicated at the time, which concerned her family, who thought she was unable to care for herself, Lowe said. But  investigators tracked Arevalo down to the Costa Mesa hotel about 10 a.m. Tuesday and found her to be unharmed, Lowe said.
