STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Sheila Zamel and James Mayfield from Farming Independence visited the KCAL 9 studios Friday to talk about a fundraiser this weekend.
Farming Independence Harvest Festival Fundraiser is being held in Agoura Hills and benefits those with Autism and other special needs.
The organization teaches job, life and social skills to special needs adults.
Sunday’s fundraiser will feature local restaurants offering delicious appetizers and desserts as well as two chefs cooking and preparing during the event. The music will include a fantastic jazz/blues band and a guest appearance by American Idol’s Tamyra Gray. Silent auction items range from gift certificates from Marmalade Cafe to a ride in an US Airforce P-51 fighter plane donated by the Southern California WWII Aviation Museum.
The Farming Independence Harvest Festival Fundraiser will take place from 2-6 p.m. Sunday on Whispering Oaks Farm, 28347 Balkins Drive in Agoura Hills.
