COVINA (CBS) — Authorities today were working to identify a man’s decomposing body, which was found in the trunk of a car in Covina.

The remains were discovered about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of East Wanamaker Drive, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner’s office.

A license check on the Toyota Camry determined that it belonged to a 26-year-old man reported missing Friday to the Ontario Police Department, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
