Bust Of Naked Couple Sitting In Car Leads To 6-Member Credit Card Theft Ring

LAGUNA BEACH (CBS) — The arrest of a naked couple sitting in the backseat of their car touched off an investigation that led to the apprehension of two others in what police are calling an extensive credit card theft ring.

In addition, arrest warrants for two others have also been issued.

Police say they arrested Diana May Andara, 21, and Diante Lemont Lopez, 38, who were sitting in their car naked and drinking alcohol behind a Laguna Beach eatery. Both Andara and Lopez reside in Costa Mesa.

At the time of the arrest authorities said they found 43 fraudulent gift and credit cards on the front seat and dashboard.

The arrests allegedly led to a third suspect almost immediately.

Authorities conducted a surveillance on Charles Martin's Huntington Beach home and after serving a warrant allegedly found fraudulent cards and nearly $1000 in clothing purchased with a phony card.

Police arrested the man they described as the ringleader of the group on September 22. Authorities say Dwight Christian Vaccaro, 46, was arrested at his home in Costa Mesa and accuse him of allegedly manufacturing and distributing the phony cards.

Authorities could not say how long the group had been operating.

Michele Gile, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said police believe there are nearly 100 unsuspecting victims, primarily people who live on the East coast.
