WESTWOOD (CBS) — UCLA police are warning students on campus to be careful after a sexual assault was reported over the weekend.
The assault happened around 7 p.m. Saturday on Strathmore at Levering avenues.
Officials said the victim was walking while listening to music when a unknown suspect grabbed her around the waist, threw her into a car and assaulted her.
The victim escaped and the suspect drove off in an older-model white Honda Civic.
The suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 35-years-old, 6 feet 1 inch with a heavy build and short brown hair.
UCLA police are telling students to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid distractions like cell phones while walking.
Female students are also advised to walk with a friend.
