ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — New York Yankees catcher Russell Martin got an early exit after a brief exchange with home plate umpire Paul Schrieber.

Martin was ejected by Schrieber in the fifth inning of Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The catcher made some comments to Schrieber after Phil Hughes walked his second consecutive batter with two outs in the inning. The umpire then walked in front of Martin and shortly afterwards threw him out of the game.

It was the first time this season Martin has been ejected.

once again the umpires think we as the fans are paying to see them so they throw out players if they get their feelings hurt. When are the officals in MLB gonna start seeing this and get rid of theses umps that throw out players just because they got their feelings hurt. Oh yeah I forgot MLB is running the Dodgers and they are busy
