Bomb Squad Investigates Possible Threat In Parking Lot Near LA County Fair
UPDATE (3:30 p.m.): A spokeswoman for the Fair says the bomb threat was a "crank call. The area has been investigated and cleared by the LA County Bomb Squad and Pomona Police Department."
POMONA (CBS) — Authorities have been called to investigate a possible bomb threat in a parking lot near the Pomona Fairgrounds, Leslie Galerne, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fair, confirmed.
In a statement released Sunday, Galerne said officers with the Pomona Police Department and the Los Angeles County bomb squad were conducting a procedural investigation of a vehicle bomb threat at White Avenue lot.
"The Pomona PD does not deem this as a credible threat," Galerne said. "The White Avenue parking lot is off-site from the fairgrounds. We have closed that parking lot and are redirecting traffic to other lots. This does not pose a threat to the guests on our grounds and the Fair is open for business."
