Detectives Believe Woman’s Death In Downey Home Is ‘Suspicious’

DOWNEY (CBS) — A woman was found dead Saturday inside her Downey home and police are now saying the death is suspicious.

The unidentified woman’s body was found about 11:15 p.m. in an apartment in the 8200 block of Telegraph Road, according to Sgt. Alex Irizabal of the Downey Police Department.

In a statement Irizabal wrote, “Downey police determined the death to be suspicious in nature and are investigating the death as a homicide.”

No further details about the investigation were released.

The name of the woman was also withheld pending notification of her next of kin

Police asked anyone with information about the death to contact Det. Steve Aubuchon at (562) 904-2361.

They are asking for information about the death, not just the person. So, for example, if someone saw something suspicious happen to a woman there in that area at that time, they can call the police with info now. After the family is notified, they can collect more information about the victim herself.

The Downey Police Department is very adept at handling such professional matters.

Downey PD should probably call in the LASD for help cause I doubt they have a lot of experience handling homicides. Small departments usually call in the big boys for this type of thing.
