Mystery Of Dead Woman Deepens In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT (CBS) — Officials still do not know the identity -- or cause of death -- of a woman whose body was found Tuesday by a jogger near a Palm Desert utility road.

The jogger reported finding the body about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on a utility easement road near Hovley Lane West and Monterey Avenue, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Nielsen said.

"The body appeared to have been at the location for several days," he said.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, Nielsen said.
