Couple Cycling In Lancaster Injured In Vehicle Crash

LANCASTER (AP) — A husband and wife have been hospitalized after they collided with a minivan while bicycling with a group of some 20 riders in Lancaster.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials say the accident occurred Saturday evening as the Valencia couple attempted to cross an intersection.

The minivan had also been preparing to cross the intersection and was pushed into the cyclists' path when it was hit by another vehicle.

The husband suffered head trauma and is listed in critical condition. His wife suffered moderate injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Both were wearing helmets. The sheriff's department is investigating the incident.
