GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — A man was reported to be in critical condition after being wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Garden Grove.
The man reportedly called authorities at around 2:14 a.m. Saturday to report that he had just “committed suicide,” Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.
When officers arrived to the 13000 block of Ferndale, they found the man outside with a knife. After several commands to drop the knife, the suspect eventually did but then pulled out a handgun and was shot, Nightengale said.
Paramedics transported the unidentified man to UC Irvine Medical Center.
Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to contact the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5800.
