Disney's Zephyr Train Arrives At Western Pacific Railroad Museum

ANAHEIM (AP) — All aboard! A train engine that has been at Disney's California Adventure park has moved out.

The recreated locomotive arrived Saturday at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, where it will go on display as part of its Zephyr Project collection.

Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis says Walt Disney loved trains, so when the park decided to expand California Adventure, they thought it was time to find a historic place for the train.

The cab of the train operated as a real locomotive and was painted to look like part of the Western Pacific Railroad, one of three railroads that operated the California Zephyr between Chicago and San Francisco from 1949 to 1970.

Even today, Amtrak operates a version of the Zephyr.
