Artest Heading To England To Play For Chesire Jets

LOS ANGELES - Ron Artest said he was going to play in England. No one believed him, not even his agent. Artest was adamant though, in the same way Artest is adamant about anything (which means he constantly contradicts himself and spins riddles, much like the Cheshire Cat. Now it certainly looks like Artest will have the last laugh.

Artest tweeted the following Tuesday afternoon:

Go Jets!!!!! Uk , here we come!!! Jets are the best!!! Jets are the best!!! New chant!!!!!!!!!

Along with the following picture.

The Los Angeles Times confirms that he's signed a contract to play for the Jets next season.

The Cheshire Jets (get it, Cheshire?) were 20-13 last season, finishing as a runner-up for the national cup. Note the "World Peace" name on the back of the jersey. Artest's name change goes official on the 26th of this month. Presumably, Artest obtained insurance for his little trip across the pond. Artest is one of the few players to pursue England as an option, with Turkish and Chinese teams presumably wealthier and with more endorsement opportunities.

But this is what Artest does, and it's what he's done.
