NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — Three smuggling suspects spotted on board a small boat from Mexico were arrested Sunday about a mile off the Newport Beach coastline.

Lifeguards near Tower 7 at Magnolia Street spotted the small panga just outside the surf line at 8 a.m., said Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.

“The three men noticed the lifeguard and police trucks on the beach, so they went back out to sea and began throwing things into the water,” Amormino said.

Sheriff’s Department, lifeguard and Harbor Patrol boats intercepted the craft and took the trio into custody on charges of drug possession, suspected smuggling activity and illegally attempting to enter the United States, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The panga had been reported stolen in Mexico, Amormino added.

Keep getting ’em before they get here! I know the number is small, but at least it’s 3 less illegals.

    1. Trapper says:

They are only trying to provide us with our needed
      Medical non prescription recreational drugs

  2. Robear in Ojai says:

Yes, “3 less illegals” who will still spend weeks if not months at our tax-payers’ expense in the immigration/justice system until they’re finally deported. Three meals a day and a fresh bed – more than what they had at home in Mexico.

Then they’ll be back, again and again. Why not? Hey, it’s like a vacation!

  3. igor doublebubblevich says:

we should send the mexicans to afghanastan rather than mexico, would be cheaper to relocate them there.

  4. IllegallyHere says:

    igor doubleubblevich – It’s Afghanistan

Robear in Ojai – Vacation, serious?!

There is a high demand for drugs here, Americans like getting high…Mexico has to supply.

  5. me says:

Should have thrown them overboard while they were handcuffed, film it and show it on the internet… send out a message to any other slimy dirtbags that try this!

    1. John Cendez says:

Sounds like the best idea thus far.

      1. KOBE says:

That is the best idea I have ever heard. I was going to say they should be shot it the head but why waste a bulltet. Feed them to the sharks.

  6. Chris Blair says:

I didn’t know Lifeguards were part of law enforcement – good to know they want to “help” put people in cages.

  7. Revenge_is_sweet says:

Thats wonderful . Now they need to inspect the shops on the west of costa mesa and deport the illegal aleins there.
