According to prosecutors, 28-year-old Jeremy Marlow of El-Cajon -- who was bed-ridden and had cerebral palsy -- was subjected to conditions that led to his death.
When authorities found him last year, he was malnourished, had sores all over his body and his bed was black with mold.
An attorney for the mother and brother argued that there was no criminal intent -- claiming the pair had their own health and mental issues to deal with.
