Police said the incident apparently evolved from an argument the man was having with a girlfriend at a home in suburban Canoga Park.

Two nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution in the 7700 block of Sedan Avenue.

According to reports from the scene, firefighters went to a residence to treat the man for a possible drug overdose, and they called police when he sped away in a pickup truck.

The incident remained under investigation.

Nope, they meant “HOLED UP” as in he is hiding out like a rabbit in a hole….if they said “Hold up” that wouldn’t be proper English…just saying….

Holed up means you are hiding, usually so that other people cannot find you.
Hold up means a delay, etc, etc.
