LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Insurers must now cover the entire cost of birth control for women, the Obama administration announced Monday.
Birth control will be free for all women who have health insurance beginning Jan. 1, 2013.
The new guideline is part of a broad expansion of coverage for women’s preventative care under President Obama’s health care law.
Groups opposing the new guidelines stress the best way to avoid pregnancy is abstinence.
