LOS ANGELES (CBS) — One of two men shot outside a Little Tokyo bar has died, police said Sunday.
Jackie Hoang, 29, of Alhambra died Saturday at County-USC Medical Center a few hours after the roughly 1:30 a.m. shooting at The Vault XXI Lounge at 333 S. Alameda St., Los Angeles police said.
The shooter was masked, about 5 feet 6 inches with a medium build, wearing a brimmed, beige hat, a dark flannel shirt and jeans, police said.
Police withheld the name of the other wounded man, who was reported in critical condition yesterday.
Witnesses told police the two men were smoking outside when the gunman opened fire.
Detectives recovered several shell casings, but the gunman remains at large.
Anyone with more information about the killing was asked to call detectives at the Central Station at (213) 972-1249.
