3 Boaters Swim To Pier After Vessel Overturns In Port Of LA

SAN PEDRO (CBS) — Three boaters, whose vessel overturned in the Port of Los Angeles Sunday, were able to swim to a commercial pier.

Firefighters got word of a boat on the rocks just east of Reservation Point near the Pier 400 commercial shipping installation about 1:20 p.m., and responding authorities found three men on Pier 400 in good condition.

Their roughly 19-foot boat was overturned and port police were working to secure it so it does not become a hazard to navigation.

That water is so contaminated with fuel and waste that they will be sick, maybe fatally, within days. They’d be better off if they had drowned. Sorry, just my opinion. Don’t mean to wish death on anyone but that’s the facts.

  2. They were originally going on a three-hour tour
