PALMDALE (CBS) — A car collided with a Metrolink train Wednesday morning, injuring three people.

The accident happened along Sierra Highway and Barrell Springs Road in Palmdale.

Authorities say the driver may have fallen asleep behind the wheel and awoke just before he crashed through the crossing arms and collided with the train.

Three Metrolink passengers suffered minor injures to their arms and complained of neck pain. They were transported to area hospitals.

The driver of the car was not injured.
