CASTAIC (CBS) — A man was killed and another person injured in a two-vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

CHP Officer Krystal Carter says the accident was reported about 6:48 a.m. Saturday south of Templin Highway.

It involved a Chevrolet Blazer that went down an embankment and a black sedan, Carter added.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
