CULVER CITY (CBS) — Royal/T will take you to Japan without leaving the comforts of Culver City.

Royal/T is a combination of a café, gallery and a store and is based on the popular Maid Café in Japan.

The café’s gallery features a new Japanese contemporary art show every month. Visitors can check out the art while enjoying a cup of tea or eating a fresh meal.

“Here I want everyone to feel like they have gone to a tea party . . . Alice in Wonderland and have fallen down the rabbit hole,” said Susan Hancock, owner of Royal/T.

The café offers over 16 varieties of tea, including green tea, known for its healing effects on the body which is used in many popular dishes. Waitresses wear maid uniforms and serve guests French-Japanese fusion dishes with California fresh ingredients.

Royal/T offers brunch and lunch seven days a week.
