LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — When Prince William and Catherine visit Southern California, they’ll take in a polo match in Santa Barbara and spend an evening in Hollywood’s spotlight, but it won’t be all champagne and strawberries for the royal couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also make a stop in Los Angeles’ Skid Row, with a visit to Inner-City Arts, a nonprofit academy that gives children from poverty-stricken neighborhoods free classes in visual and performing arts.
“This is what’s going on outside their castle. They’re going to get a taste of what life is like for us,” says Jessica Cornejo, a 19-year-old member of a dance troupe that will be performing for the couple during their Sunday visit. “It’s the best way to end that royal trip.”
