Police: Fourth Of July Beer Run Ends In Jail, Robbery Charges
INDIO (CBS) — A quick stop at a convenience store for a case of beer on Independence Day ended with two men in jail on robbery charges, police said Tuesday.
"It started off as a beer run, but it turned into a robbery when they pulled a knife," said Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron.
Joseph Diaz, 18, and Christopher Diaz, 19, were arrested on suspicion of robbing the AM/PM mini-mart at 82-338 Highway 111 reported at about 12:45 a.m., Guitron said.
